We’re very excited to share one of our recent garden transformation projects, which involved a full patio rebuild and landscaping works.

The project began with the removal of an old concrete pad in the corner of the garden, which was replaced with a new porcelain patio. A course of block paving was installed around the edge of the garden to allow for easier mowing and a clean, practical finish.

We then carefully dismantled and removed the existing conservatory to create a larger, more usable patio area. Once cleared, we installed a Type 1 sub-base, brought to the correct height and fully compacted to ensure long-term stability.

Block paving was laid around the perimeter, followed by the porcelain slabs, each laid on a full bed of mortar with slurry primer applied to the reverse of every slab to ensure maximum adhesion.

A particular challenge on this project was a main sewer drain running along the edge of the patio and through the lawn. Rather than compromise the look of the patio, we incorporated the recessed lid seamlessly into the design using turf, slabs, and block paving.

To finish, fresh turf was laid to bring the garden to life, along with a small block paving path to provide easy access in and out of the garden.
